Requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa for Architects in the UK
The Skilled Worker visa is a points-based immigration route that allows skilled workers from outside the UK to come to the UK to work in an eligible occupation. Architects are included on the eligible occupation list, so they can apply for a Skilled Worker visa if they have a job offer from a UK employer.

Applying for a Skilled Worker visa
Architects can apply for a Skilled Worker visa online or by post. The online application process is the most straightforward and is recommended for most applicants.
The online application process is divided into two parts:
- Part 1: In Part 1, applicants will need to provide their personal details, contact information, and passport details. They will also need to upload a digital photograph and a scanned copy of their passport.
- Part 2: In Part 2, applicants will need to provide details of their job offer, their skills and qualifications, and their financial situation. They will also need to upload supporting documents, such as a copy of their degree certificate and a letter from their employer.

Processing times
The processing time for Skilled Worker visa applications varies depending on the individual circumstances of the applicant. However, most applications are processed within 8 weeks.
Decision
Once the application has been processed, the Home Office will make a decision on whether to grant the visa. If the application is successful, the applicant will be issued with a visa that will allow them to work in the UK for up to 5 years.
Appeals
If an application for a Skilled Worker visa is refused, the applicant may be able to appeal the decision. Appeals must be submitted within 28 days of the refusal decision.
